Peacebuilder, Speaker, and Movement Architect

Prashan De Visser is a globally recognized peacebuilder, speaker, and movement architect. As founder and president of Global Unites, he advances youth-led conflict transformation through grassroots chapters, leadership
pipelines, and evidence-based reconciliation initiatives in 20 countries. His two decades of work began with Sri Lanka Unites (2008–2023), which he scaled to a movement of 30,000+ members, 50 staff, and 9 offices
nationwide. SLU’s flagship Future Leaders’ Conferences—11 to date—have trained over 5,000 student leaders to build bridges across ethnic, religious, and geographic divides in post-war Sri Lanka.
Global Unites builds on that model through country movements, cross-border learning, and global convenings; the most recent summit assembled 100 peacebuilders from 21 countries in Doha . Qatar. Prashan’s teaching
includes doctoral-level instruction at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School, part of the intellectual tradition of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Prashan holds an MA in Peace Studies (University of Notre Dame) and a BA in International Affairs (Gordon College), where he made history as the first South Asian elected Student Body President. His honors include the
Queen’s Points of Light Award (2018), an Honorary Doctorate from Gordon College (2022), and recognition among the Financial Times/Oxford “Kindness & Revolution – 50 Leading Lights” (2021). A former TV host and
producer, he has addressed audiences across Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America, including TEDx Notre Dame, Fearless Conference (Nairobi), and Peace One Day (London). He is the author of Phoenix Generation and
Peacemakers in a Polarized World.
